Explore the Long Dark. It features fascinating visuals as well. It's an open-world survival experience in early access, with development focusing on the story mode. You can pick between a sandbox or challenge-based gameplay. Be aware it can get tough at times, and saves only occur when you sleep. Death results in a restart unless you save your progress and transfer it elsewhere. After that, death means you must begin anew with a different character.

I’ve seen The Walking Dead Season 1, 2 and 3. They’re not open-world titles, but I’m sure you’ll enjoy them. You might get a bit confused if you play them casually. I was emotional at the end of Season 1. For open-world games, check out this video—it has some cool options.
