I made errors with some configurations and need to erase the settings directory completely to play the game. I've reinstalled it, removed the folder from appdata roaming/local, and even tried launching it with a different Steam account. Still nothing works. Need your assistance soon!
users your username my games appdata local company or game title it could also be saved in steam cloud or something similar so you might remove everything on your device, turn off the network adapter, launch the game and it can't reach steam cloud to fetch data, possibly creating a fresh default setup. then press alt tab, turn network back on, close the game (hoping it will attempt to reconnect and upload new defaults to overwrite the old ones)
In the Steam interface, you can switch off cloud functionality on a game-by-game basis. You don’t have to turn off the network connection. Steam games (based on your library installation) are located in the Steam\SteamApps\common directory, with each game in its separate folder, and there might be configuration files there.
Many options are available in your user profile: documents, saved games, appdata. Some files could reside in the game's installation directory—particularly smaller indie titles might have a configuration file right next to the executable—and occasionally the game stores data in the registry. It would help to specify the exact game you're referring to.
