Most people consider MW2 the best ever made. Some argue it’s 4 due to being the first with custom classes and similar features.
Focusing on what truly matters, most call of duty titles share the same core gameplay. Whether it’s Call of Duty 2’s realistic combat, Modern Warfare 2’s epic campaign, World at War zombies, or Black Ops 4’s intense battle royale, each offers unique and impressive elements.
What’s your top pick and why?
I really enjoy MW3 for its survival operations. No other game provides a long-term fix like that.
Alternatively, I’d go for MW2 because its campaign is outstanding. I can play through it countless times without losing interest.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare once had a massive community, but now it's mostly remembered as a joke.
Probably Black Ops. I guess it's a mixture of nostalgia, and that I really do think it had some great maps and OK gun balancing.
Of course, there's also Zombies, which I spend countless hours playing with my friends.
But I will say that Black Ops IV is tempting, and it's actually drawing me towards buying a CoD game for the first time in a while.
I played MW2 then COD4...Cod4 is my all-time favorite. It really captured the atmosphere with the campaign and worked well with the multiplayer maps too. There were some slower servers where you could really immerse yourself.
The MW2 campaign had solid multiplayer, though hacks and prestegating were common.
MW3’s campaign was great and wrapped up the story nicely. I didn’t really dive into multiplayer after switching to BF3 and BF4; now I mostly play single-player simulation games with the occasional Insurgency cooperative mode.
