that’s my understanding too, but I’m unsure which adjustments to make to see the game clearly since some titles don’t display any artifacts or ghosting, while others do. I also noticed this issue on my gaming laptop, which runs a different system, and it appears the same ghosting effect occurs in those games.
Typically it relates to the kind of anti-aliasing applied, though frame generation could also play a role.
My GPU 3080 lacks a frame buffer, but I’ll look into anti-aliasing.
It lacks Nvidia's native frame generation, yet you can still use AMD's open-ended frame generation through in-game settings for many titles—sometimes it's turned on by default. You might also opt for frame generation via Lossless Scaling, though that's unlikely to be your approach.
Check your system details and verify the frame generation process. Look for signs of AMD-specific settings or modifications in your BIOS/UEFI. If unsure, consult manufacturer documentation or contact support for confirmation.
The performance depends on the game. Some are good, others aren't. I added a video on the game, and it uses DLSS with frame generation. My card doesn’t support it, so it wasn’t included. Recently, I adjusted some settings in the NVIDIA control panel, and the games run much smoother. They’re not perfectly smooth but significantly better than before. There’s still a slight ghosting effect when playing, which I’m not sure is normal since I have an OLED 34 monitor from LG.
When DLSS is active, AMDs frame generation isn't enabled—it uses AMD's FSR tech. Disable DLSS, super resolution, and anti-aliasing to test performance. Expect lower FPS, but notice the ghosting problem more clearly.
