I had been using BF2042 on Windows 11 with my 9820x and a 3080 GPU. Last night I replaced it with a 5900x and an Arctic Liquid Freezer II 360. When launching the game, everything runs smoothly—even the opening scenes feel fluid. However, the intro feels choppy and doesn’t play well. Everything seems to be working fine otherwise. The CPU and GPU temperatures look normal. Got any suggestions?

The GPU fits into the proper socket on B550 boards. The lower long X16 PCIe slot connects via the X4 chipset.

Are you sure only Battlefield 2042 has problems, or are there other games too? It seems many titles face issues right now.

It turned out the AIO mounting bracket had an issue. A stud that the thumbscrews should fit was missing, so I assumed three would be sufficient. I replaced it with a Corsair AIO and everything functioned perfectly. I’m currently seeing peak CPU temperatures reaching 68°C during games.
