Gameplay problems during loading...
Hello, this is my first time sharing these details... I've dealt with texture changes that happen when the camera or character approaches over many years, and I think it might be related to a LOD problem. (Not sure if this connects to LOD, but it feels like it does to me) For Baldur's Gate 3, check out the YouTube video at https://youtu.be/rsnlokMpx-c?list=PL2C80...GJ-yRATEY5 – you'll see the rocks and boardwalk shifting as he gets near. I also found another video here: https://youtu.be/1tZPR9Tf-pU?list=PL2MZX...FfuIP_1Pos – they show no problems at that spot. I've set everything to maximum in the game and still see the same effect, though it's worse in some titles like God of War 2018 and Ragnarok compared to others. I've read about "dirty electricity" online, but I don't think it applies here – probably just a myth. Is anyone else facing this issue? Could it be related to my GPU? Otherwise everything looks fine.
PC specs:
- GPU: MSI RTX 4070 Ti Gaming X Trio 12G (Nvidia driver 566.36)
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7800x3d
- RAM: G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 32gb DDR5-6000 cl30 (2x16GB) with XMP enabled
- SSD: Crucial P5 Plus 2TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME
- PSU: Corsair RM1000x 2021 MOBO
- BIOS: MSI MAG X670E Tomahawk WIFI ATX AM5 (version 1.40, updated 2023-08-11)
- Monitor: MSI G274QPX 240hz 1440p
It appears the main issue revolves around low LOD models being replaced by higher ones, a common occurrence in games. Running the game on an NVMe SSD shouldn’t cause asset streaming problems that lead to late pop-ins. Since this is expected behavior, there’s little you can do beyond exploring graphical enhancement mods to increase your LOD distance settings.
I face the same issue across all games and devices. People often mention "dirty electricity" as a possible cause. But why would it affect four different systems so similarly? Since your Lenovo PC runs smoothly with 4080 and Intel, while your custom build with 4090 and AMD works fine, maybe something else is at play. Have you tried adjusting power settings or checking for hardware conflicts? Also, consider whether your PS5 has any known issues with your specific setup. If the problem persists after changes, it might be worth investigating other factors like network stability or peripheral interference.
