Hello, I've noticed some issues while playing games lately. It seems the CPU might be the cause. My PC has been running slowly at times, but recently I've been replaying DOOM 2016 and even at 1080p it keeps lagging instead of 2K. I recently purchased the following components: a COOLERMASTER MASTERBOX MB530P RGB gaming case with an Intel Core i5 processor, a 9MB cache motherboard from Gigabyte, 16GB DDR4 RAM with Corsair VENGEANCE RGB, an 8GB NVIDIA RTX 2070 graphics card, a 1TB M.2 SSD, an Intel 660p NVMe PCIe SSD, and a CORSAIR 850W power supply with FrostFlow cooling. The case is also equipped with ASUS Strix Sound Card and Thunderbolt ports.
Hi there, you're on bottleneck land with an old i5 9600K. Don't worry, it should work fine. Make sure no app is running in the background.
You can check Task Manager to confirm if DOOM is consuming most CPU resources or if other applications are using them. Running at 1080p puts more strain on the CPU compared to 2K. Using lower resolutions reduces the GPU load but increases the CPU's workload to render more frames.
