I received a Y50 with an GTX 860M and 4GB RAM. GTA 5 runs smoothly at over 60 FPS on medium settings, but I experience occasional drops to 5-10 FPS for 1-2 seconds. The laptop stays cool during gameplay. It seems the issue might be with the hardware or the game itself. After reinstalling and updating drivers, I switched to a high-performance game to check. What’s happening? Can you recommend another demanding title for testing?

It seems the game is consuming more VRAM than available. Would you like to adjust settings?

It's about the game, not your equipment. Were you in a particular spot when the frames failed; since some Los Santos zones need significant processing power.

I've adjusted everything to the lowest settings, with a 1000/4000 ratio. It's strange—I get high FPS but then experience frequent drops.

Do you have another high-performance test setup in mind? I'm checking for any heat issues or other problems so I can decide whether to return it.
