Hello, I've observed the sky flickering in both Watch Dogs 2 and GTA V. It seems the brightness changes quickly, unlike in other games I've played so far—though I don't play many titles. I tried various solutions: reinstalling graphics drivers, changing them, resetting Windows, adjusting Gsync/Vsync settings, tweaking FPS limits, modifying graphics options, testing different cables and connections, switching ports (DisplayPort to HDMI), using another monitor with a different panel, adjusting refresh rate and resolution, downclocking the GPU, limiting CPU clock speed, overclocking the monitor to 165Hz (the feature came with it), and even swapping my GPU with a friend's GTX 1070TI. The flickering persisted on my PC but not on the other machine, suggesting the issue isn't with my hardware. My current specs are: RTX 2080 Gaming, Ryzen 7 3700X, Asus x470-F, and Acer Predator XB271HU. I also made sure all drivers were up to date and didn't modify registry settings. I hope someone can assist me with this, as I'm running out of ideas. Thanks for your time.

Consider using GPU RAM at a reduced speed. Certain RTX models experienced unstable memory issues that worsened over time. If this applies to your setup, you may be eligible for a refund.

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, it looks like the problem might be with my CPU, so I'm switching to another setup until it's resolved. Appreciate the understanding!

Hey there, sorry for the delay. I’m still dealing with the same problem and would really appreciate your help. You mentioned the CPU fix worked? Did you only switch the CPU or also upgraded to an Intel model and changed the GPU? I’ve been having this issue for a while now and it’s starting to affect my gaming experience. It’s frustrating, so thank you for your time.

Could the issue stem from G-Sync functionality or another form of display instability?

I reviewed it once more after about a year, and it looks like the adjustments worked well. It’s worth noting that similar issues appear in GTA V on both console and PC. I’ve experimented with Watch Dogs and quickly resolved the flicker. My approach included disabling Gsync, ensuring no antivirus blocked the game, setting the monitor to 60 Hz, turning on standard Vsync, and adjusting graphics settings to High with temporal filtering and ambient occlusion at HBAO+. If you notice any lingering issues, keep Motion Blur enabled—it helps mask the problem. I also use a recent driver and play in fullscreen.

I encountered the same issue after adjusting in-game settings (I use an RTX 3050), but the solution was resetting the pixel density to 1.00.
