I just put a new gaming computer together with an MSI Z690 Tomahawk and an I9 12900k processor. It worked perfectly until I tried to start a game. The icon pops up in the task bar at the bottom, then disappears fast and nothing loads. I tried loading a different game inside Steam and it happened again. I took out my graphics card (an MSI 2070 Super) and reinstalled everything, but that didn't help either. I removed the GPU and started using the built-in graphics, same problem. I did a full reinstall of Windows and saved all my files. After that, it's still not working. I tried running games as Admin with no change. I deleted some apps I use like MSI Afterburner and they didn't help either. My software updates are up to date and all other drivers look good too. I guess this might be the new hardware or something else but I have no idea what it is. I did a clean install, updated Windows one last time, and updated my GPU driver again. I downloaded one game to test if anything works. It still won't launch that game. I swapped out all my RAM sticks and nothing changed. Event log shows an error: the launcher.exe_SWTOR Launcher (version 3.2.6.0) is crashing when it tries to run. The specific file causing trouble is dataexchange.dll from Windows, and the computer crashed because of a missing module in the Star Wars - The Old Republic game files. You can find more details on this error here: https://www.reddit.com/r/buildapc/commen...r_upgrade/

It didn't work, and it wasn't really helping either.

I can tell right away. Have you put down another game since installing it properly?

Yeah, I opened up Steam and tried to play a different game. It gave me the same problem again.

So you just wiped everything and put on Windows again, right? Did you also plug in the chip card for your computer? Then did you get Steam from Microsoft and run it? Finally, did you pick up a game to play? But even after all that, things are still not working as expected.

Are there any other problems like it getting stuck, freezing up, or crashing?
