Game stuttering
Game stuttering
PC performed okay yesterday. The issue started in CSGO where the frame rate would drop near 120 and then fall every few seconds. The GeForce Overlay reported 99% around 10 FPS, causing stuttering that bothers me. It rarely hits 60 FPS. I also checked Fortnite stats and BIOS updates didn’t help. Changed game settings, tried other programs, but the problem persisted. Scanned with Malwarebytes and Avast, no threats found. Since I haven’t installed any software in weeks, it’s possible some program is causing the issue. GPU performance seems low.
It would help to understand what triggers these stutters. Could you provide a more detailed and accurate log of your core clock, memory clock, temperature, and power consumption? As shown in the picture, it's drawing about 59 watts, which is slightly lower than expected. It might also be related to the CPU—if it overheats and reduces its speed, similar performance issues could occur.
You might try GPU-Z for monitoring. Adjust the sensor refresh rate slightly higher than 1 second if the issue is sporadic. For consistent problems, logging isn't necessary—the displayed bar will suffice.
From the logs, it seems the GPU was inactive while your core and memory clocks remained stable. Your power consumption and workload appear normal, but the frame drawing isn’t getting new data. This might point to a CPU issue. Are there any background programs consuming CPU resources? If you can't pinpoint the cause, consider running a DDU check on your drivers or reinstalling them (if needed) or simply reinstalling Windows.
At the moment there were no other options available. I considered reinstalling Windows because it’s causing some issues, but I believe that’s just adding more complexity.
These records show heavy CPU usage. Background processes are consuming resources, leading to minor delays. If your CPU or storage becomes overwhelmed by another task, this issue could occur.
