after switching to a 2060super in august, my performance drops to about 30 minutes per game at most. it’s really annoying. i’ve reinstalled all drivers, updated the gpu and chipset, re-seated the card several times. i haven’t done any overclocking, no temperature problems or strange behavior, and i’ve changed power settings multiple times too. there are no logs showing what’s happening. i’m not sure what to do next. my 2606super is running with a 2700x and 32gb corsair vengeance 3000mhz on an aurus x470 gaming ultimate. any details could help me figure this out.
Started from scratch again and planning a risky move. I’m going to guess this card won’t reach 82C at 1440p.
I’ll run some tests adjusting the power limit and voltage settings and observe the results. If nothing works, I’ll examine the thermal paste and pads.
Surprisingly, lowering the clock speed and using VSync actually made things worse. The game kept crashing repeatedly—switching between crashes, DT, and then BS. The card was hitting its thermal limits and became much less reliable. It was a test of CSGO at 1440p.
Reduce clock speed to optimal levels and adjust the fan curve for improved performance.
Adjusting underclock and using a more aggressive fan curve extended playtime a bit but caused instability and lots of stuttering. I'm not confident enough to understand voltage curves, so I asked for an RMA via NVIDIA last night. They failed the test in 19 minutes with stock settings. I hope this goes well. Thanks for your help—I'll keep this in mind moving forward!
