The title indicates that I experience sudden, unpredictable dips in performance across a variety of games. Whether it’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, World of Warcraft, Assetto Corsa, DiRT or Valorant, the problem is consistent. I generally maintain satisfactory frame rates (ranging from 70 to 80), except for brief periods lasting approximately 4-5 seconds where my frames plummet to 9 or 10. This isn’t a cooling problem, as I consistently maintain my laptop's temperature and apply thermal paste (using MX-4). Driver updates have also been implemented, ruling out that as a cause. My security software, Bitdefender, suggests it’s unlikely to be related to malware. Here are my system specifications:

i7-6700HQ @ 2.60 GHz
GTX 960M
16 GB of RAM (Previously 8 GB, upgraded due to a suspected memory concern)

It’s important to note that I've observed some minor visual anomalies with my graphics card. Last summer, I saw unusual distortions that I initially attributed to overheating. However, after allowing the GPU to cool down, these issues disappeared. Recently, while playing Valorant with an external monitor and Task Manager displayed on a secondary screen, I noticed noticeable distortions in my peripheral vision coinciding with the lag spikes. This has been a recurring issue for several years, and it’s now causing significant frustration. I am hoping to find a resolution to this persistent challenge!

Hello. Would you like to test your system’s performance using a UserBenchmark assessment? If so, you may want to give it a shot. It could identify any weak areas within your hardware setup. Here’s the link: https://www.userbenchmark.com/. If you decide to run it, please share the link to your results with us. Thank you.

Certainly, here’s the revised text:

The UserBenchmark results at this link—https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/27948741—indicate a performance decline. Furthermore, this issue didn't present itself when the laptop was initially purchased. Recently, while I was simply using my computer to play Grand Theft Auto V, the system’s speed unexpectedly dropped significantly.
