While playing Destiny 2 and other titles, your GPU performance doesn’t appear to adjust. Your hardware specs look solid—GPU is an Invidia GTX 1060 3G, CPU a Ryzen 9 5900x, 32GB RAM, and a B550i case with AORUS Pro. Despite high VRAM usage, FPS drops significantly after a few minutes. Temperatures are normal, drivers are up to date, and older components like the Ryzen 5 3600xt are still functional.

I’d think a GPU bottleneck is likely.

There might be options to improve performance without purchasing a new GPU. Consider checking if your current setup can be optimized or if upgrading components like the RAM or cooling system would help. If not, a new GPU may be necessary.

That setup really needs a replacement. Your CPU seems too powerful for this configuration.

Discuss the GPU performance during gameplay. A bottleneck where the GPU struggles can seem illogical, yet it’s possible if the CPU limits the GPU too much. Even if you think the CPU is the issue, it still doesn’t explain why a high-end card like the 5900X wouldn’t handle a lower-end model such as the 1060.

We don’t have to purchase a new GPU just yet. Let’s investigate the problem together. Are you making a joke?

Run CPU tests using Prime95 with Small FFTs for one hour. Perform RAM checks with Memtest86 for three hours. Assess GPU performance with GPUPI 3.3.3 by pressing Calculate and applying the specified settings. If issues arise during testing, report them. Download links provided: Prime95 – https://www.mersenne.org/download/, Memtest86 – https://www.memtest86.com/download.htm, GPUPI – https://www.overclockers.at/news/gpupi-i...ort-thread, MSI Kombustor – https://msikombustor.com/#MSI_Kombustor_Download_for_PC

While playing Destiny 2 and other titles my GPU performance remains steady. Specs include an Invidia GTX 1060 3G, a Ryzen 9 5900x, 32GB RAM, GIGABYTE B550I, AORUS PRO AX AM4, AMD B550 Mini-ITX, a 650W SFX-L 80Plus Gold case. After a few minutes in-game my FPS drops significantly, though VRAM appears sufficient. Before this setup, the issue didn’t occur. All temperatures stay within limits and drivers are up to date. Old components are still functioning properly.
