Game performance decreases during mouse or screen movement.
Recently I purchased an Asus Zephyrus Duo 16, a solid laptop capable of handling most tasks smoothly. It performed well with high frame rates for Apex, maintaining around 180 FPS most of the time, though there were occasional dips. After adjusting my setup and switching monitors from 2560x1440 at 240Hz to 1920x1080 at 165Hz, I started experiencing significant Apex performance drops—especially when moving the mouse. The game felt sluggish, with noticeable sensitivity shifts that made gameplay frustrating. Despite stable GPU and CPU temperatures (up to 85°C for CPU, 75°C for GPU), the issue persisted only during mouse movement. I haven’t changed any settings since then, and the problem seems limited to Apex. I’ve also tested lower polling rates, set power plans to best performance, and enabled Asus Turbo mode, but nothing resolved the issue. This seems to affect other titles too—Black Ops 2 shows similar frame drops around 500 FPS, while Overwatch has general FPS fluctuations unrelated to mouse movement. Any suggestions?
