Game of Thrones Kings Road – reviews and challenges across every platform
Android: Even with the Snapdragon X Elite chip on my Samsung Galaxy S25, the game struggles to keep 60 frames per second at maximum settings. CPU and GPU usage aren’t at full capacity, yet FPS adjustments remain sluggish. On lower settings, loading times become excessive. iOS: The device runs smoothly, but there’s no developer tool to check real-time FPS or monitor CPU/GPU load. The game should include this feature. Mac: The mouse fails in the game, rendering it unusable and preventing me from confirming actions. This causes frustration when error messages appear. Windows: Data download is significantly larger than on other platforms—why? MacOS? Xess upscaling underperforms compared to DLSS and FSR. While 120 fps and unlimited options exist, resolution scaling stops at 100%. Performance (Ryzen 5700X CPU + RTX 3060 GPU): 768p DLSS at lowest settings yields 205 fps. Single-core CPU caps at 1080p in low settings with no upscaling. 1080p: No upscaling, 60fps, high settings reach 80 fps. 1080p DLSS quality: 75 fps. 1080p max settings: 55 fps. 1440p: No upscaling available. High settings: 40 fps. 1440p DLSS quality: 60 fps. 1440p max settings: 50-55 fps. 35 fps. Overall: No 120 fps support across platforms. The game lacks ray tracing and HDR capabilities.
From what I've seen in ads, the game comes from Netmarble. Expecting it to be solid and bug-free would be quite challenging. I've played several titles from them, like 7DS, ToG New World, Solo Leveling, etc., all following a similar trend—most still have unresolved problems or missing features. Common issues include slow farming options, skipping upgrades, and a lack of essential mechanics that could be considered minor but important. For example, the game often adds skips for battles and upgrades after a long time since launch, and it seems to prioritize basic controls over deeper functionality. It appears designed mainly for mobile devices rather than high-end systems. Based on my experience, using an emulator might yield similar results as playing the native PC version, especially if some support is available for mobile games.
