Hello, please accept my sincere thanks for taking the time to read this message. I crafted my own system nearly two years ago after relying on an older 1060 pre-built unit. Eventually, its power supply failed, which motivated me to apply the lessons from my Computer Science studies and assemble my own PC. This happened during the peak of GPU price hikes, so I spent around 700 USD on an EVGA 3060 Black. It was worth it—I could finally enjoy games like Cyberpunk and Tarkov.
Specifications included a B550M PRO-VDH WIFI motherboard, 16 GB DDR4 3600 GSKILL RAM, a Ryzen 7 3700X with stock cooler, three intake and three output fans, an 980 GB M.2 SSD, a 2 TB FireCuda SSD, and a 700-watt EVGA 80+ gold PSU.
In the early months, performance was exceptional—truly impressive. But soon after, I encountered crashes while playing Cyberpunk, followed by screen freezes and Event Viewer errors like “Error Source: nvlddmkm” with ID 0. Initially, I thought it was a minor glitch after passing my certification exams, but after a year and a half, the issue persisted, crashing at least three times daily.
I’ve explored every forum thread, from Microsoft to Nvidia, UGETFIX, and Tom’s Hardware. I’ve wiped systems, reinstalled Windows, run diagnostics, updated drivers, and even booted into safe mode with DDU. I’ve tested various motherboards, CPUs, RAM, and PSUs, even swapping out the GPU, memory, and power supply. All attempts seemed to resolve the problem temporarily.
I’ve also visited local repair shops, getting my PC back within weeks for a small fee—around 140 USD total. Each shop claimed they fixed it, but only for short periods before it rebooted. I called both and received vague reassurances without solutions.
Some actions helped: enabling debug mode in Nvidia Control Panel, reinstalling drivers, and adjusting TDR error settings. However, once I went into safe mode with DDU and reinstalled drivers, the issue returned within an hour.
I’ve also noticed that changing things like fans, cooling, or even checking for corrupted files didn’t fix it. My GPU and memory speeds were stable, and I hadn’t underclocked anything. I’ve swapped out components others had succeeded with, but nothing changed.
Despite all my efforts, this problem has dragged on longer than expected. I’m deeply grateful for anyone who took the time to understand what I was going through. Thank you for your patience and support.
Welcome to the forum! Please format your posts for better readability. After that, download the latest NVIDIA driver for your card from their website. During setup, make sure to check the "perform clean installation" option. If this doesn’t help, consider whether you purchased your GPU from a legitimate retailer or bought it from an eBay seller—this might indicate a hardware issue.
