Game maintains low performance on Windows 10
Hello everyone. I’m experiencing an unusual issue with my Windows 10 PC lately. I enjoy playing FPS games such as CS:GO and COD, but after playing for a while, the game tends to shrink or minimize itself. I’m not sure why this happens. Have others encountered similar problems? Any suggestions on how to fix this would be really helpful. Thanks for your support!
@ Johnpaul Goodwin These games aren't running here. Here are some steps you can try: open explorer.exe through task manager, restart it if needed. If that fails, a program might be interfering with popups—possibly a glitch not displaying properly. You can disable its startup in task manager or click its small icon on the taskbar. Alternatively, terminate the process directly. Consider updating your GPU drivers by opening Command Prompt (Win+R), typing cmd.exe, and entering "SFC /scannow" to check for issues. If that doesn't resolve it, run "DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth" which may take up to an hour. After completing, restart your PC and try "SFC /Scannow" again in cmd. This should help improve stability.
Begin Resmon to observe the running processes after launching the game (capture a screenshot). When the window is minimized, check for any new activity (another screenshot and compare). It appears another game-related service might be active. Likely a background task related to the game.
@camieabz Or even more concerning, a virus or something similar.
