Hey, I've been experiencing frequent system and game crashes lately. Usually, I play for around 10 to 15 minutes before things go wrong—either the game crashes or my screen goes black with no response. I've tried many troubleshooting steps online, like reinstalling GPU drivers, updating Windows, checking BIOS, inspecting cables, re-seating the GPU, adjusting BIOS settings or using Nvidia Control Panel, but nothing resolved it. After a clean Windows 11 install, the issue still happened. My games—Rocket League, ARK: Survival Evolved, FragPunk, GTA V: Enhanced—all crash. Surprisingly, Valorant is the only one that runs smoothly. My PC specs are: Intel i9 9900K (cooled, no throttling, overclocked), Palit GameRock RTX 3080 10GB (undervolted, no heat, tried stock settings), G.Skill TridentZ Neo 32GB 3200MT/s (disabled XMP didn’t help), Gigabyte 750W PSU, M.2 WD Black SSD 2TB, and two monitors (1440p 180Hz HDR and a 60Hz random monitor). I’m really unsure what to do next.
Certainly points are raised about adjusting HDR settings and checking for issues. Some suggest reverting to older drivers to see if the problem continues. Others mention that previous driver updates might have triggered the issue.
Executed the initial test, which failed right away. Later I turned off my undervolt setting just to check and the test worked several times without issues. The problem seems to appear only when undervolt is enabled (specifically in ARK:Survival Evolved). I plan to extend the test duration to see if it's related to VRAM.
The HDR feature was turned off by default, but it appears to be set correctly in your monitor's built-in controls. Since you're not moving the game window between screens, the problem might be elsewhere.
Looks like the system is struggling with VRAM and experiencing crashes.
I've completed the testing session for more than an hour without any crashes or issues.
