Whenever my friend attempts to play gtav online or story, the initial missions with lamar often fail, and the game frequently freezes. At that moment, the computer reports it’s consuming too much memory despite only being at 50-60% usage. The system runs an i5 4690k, an ASUS Strix 970, with 8GB of 1600 DDR3 RAM.

The game stops when CAM is active. Are there any other overlays installed?

Have you seen any other programs stop working? Running a memory test might help confirm if the issue is with your storage.

The sole other game that causes issues is Ark, but its extremely low optimization leads to standard crashes even without excessive memory warnings
