Hello everyone, I've been facing an unusual problem for the past three months. The PC cooler and GPU fans suddenly switch to jet turbine mode, and the monitor either goes black or loses signal during certain games. I can still hear the music from the game, but everything freezes until I restart the computer. I've looked into various online suggestions without success. Here are some details: My system is an ASUS Z490 Plus with WiFi Intel 10700K, Corsair H100i 240 NVMe SSD (used for some games), RTX 3080, 10G 64 GB RAM, and a 850W Gold PSU. I run Windows 11. Games are not crashing the PC: Alan Wake 2 (1080 medium), Conan Exiles (1440 cinematic), HDD Atlas Fallen (1440 high), HDD GTA 5 (1440 high), HDD Injustice 2 (1440 high), HDD MK 1 (1440 high), and several others. On the crash side: ARK Survival Evolved (1080 medium/high), ARK Survival Ascended (1080 low/medium with most features off), SSD. While playing the ARK series, fans speed up and slow down randomly, regardless of location in the game. The GPU temperature reaches nearly 90°C before the crash. CPU temps often hit 50-60°C, leading to crashes. I've tried several fixes: running SFC, cleaning the PC case, checking Steam integrity, setting a high power plan, disabling Windows game mode and XMP settings, and turning off CPU overclocking. The PC was inspected, but no issues were found. People are complaining about ARK Ascended's poor optimization, but why does it happen in ARK Evolved too?
it's not about the reason—it's just how the GPU keeps itself safe from overheating. I'd suggest better cooling solutions. Personally, I like Noctua. Also, yes, the CPU cooler matters too; AIOs really hurt airflow overall.
