Hey, I checked the laptop specs and thought it would work for gaming. It's a Thinkbook 13s i7 10510u with 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, and only Intel UHD 620 graphics. I know those aren't top-notch, but my CPU is fine. With the high performance power plan, it runs around 3.5-4.6GHz. I changed BIOS to Performance mode, but CSGO still lags badly—only 25-30fps. In Task Manager, my clock speed drops to 2GHz or stays at 4GHz most of the time. I'm hoping someone can help me out.
The interface is restricting you. The CPU frequency isn't the issue; it's the GPU that matters.
The 10510U features a low-power CPU with a 15W power draw. Both the Intel CPU cores and the Intel GPU are capped at this limit. Over time, performance will drop significantly if the turbo settings remain unchanged. Raising the turbo power threshold can boost output from both the CPU and iGPU considerably.
