Hey, I've been facing some issues with Valorant lately. It seems to start around 1 or 2 months ago. Before that, everything worked perfectly. Now, opening the game takes a couple of seconds and then it freezes. I can still use Alt+Tab to switch apps, but the whole session stops. When it freezes, the CPU drops sharply to about 5%, and the game just vanishes and reappears in Task Manager. I thought it was just DSR, but after reinstalling drivers and turning off DSR it's still happening. It affects both fullscreen and windowed modes, though it runs smoothly in windowed mode with a noticeable lag. Other games seem fine in fullscreen or windowed settings. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!

PC specs:
- OS: Windows 11 Update 24H2
- CPU: Ryzen 7700
- Motherboard: ASROCK B650M Pro RS
- GPU: Zotac GeForce RTX 4070
- RAM: 32GB
- Storage: ADATA Legend 850 Lite
- PSU: Fractal Ion+ 2 660W
- Cooling: SSD

I understand there have been recent Windows updates that might have affected anti-cheat tools, causing performance issues like lag spikes. You can look up relevant articles and discussions on Google to identify the possible culprit. Have a great day!

A thoughtful inquiry about recent changes in your PC, software, and hardware over the past 1-2 months. If there were any updates, have you attempted a fresh install of Valorant? Additionally, before adjusting the display size, have you considered pausing the frame rate first?

Hardware stayed mostly the same. Software updates didn’t fix the problem. I reinstalled Valorant and it kept causing issues. I also tried pausing FPS before resizing, but the same problem persisted. I’m not sure if anti-cheat is the cause. The game runs fine on Vanguard too.

It seems likely connected to Discord's overlay feature!

I believe it relates to the newest Valorant patch. Here’s how I approached playing. Launch the Valorant Log and begin the match on the loading screen where it pauses (background noise continues). Press alt+enter to switch to window mode. Navigate to settings > Video > General, select display mode and pick windowed with full screen. Apply changes. This method seems to help me, though freezing occurs when trying to go fullscreen. My system is moderately slow but functional. I hope you can enjoy Valorant in windowed fullscreen. Specs: CPU Ryzen 3200g, MOBO A320M, GPU Built-in Vega 8, 16GB RAM, 2600mhz, 450W PSU, white 80+ Corsair VS450.
