Always crashes when launching, regardless of whether ultra or low settings are enabled. No mods installed—just purchased the game. Help would be greatly appreciated.

System: i5 6500, 16GB RAM, GTX 1060, 6GB, Gigabyte G1, Windows 10 (up to date). All drivers current.

If you haven’t reinstalled drivers, uninstall the game, remove all unnecessary program files, and try reinstalling it—this might resolve the issue. If that doesn’t work, consider more severe steps: first, take your 1060 out and test it with integrated graphics, then proceed to reinstall Windows.

I wouldn't suggest trying Fallout 4 with Intel HD graphics, as it's known for frequent crashes. Based on my setup—a MacBook Air with an Intel Core i7-3667U, 8 GB DDR3, Intel HD 4000, and Windows 8.1—I've only been able to launch the game a few times, reaching the main menu a couple of times before it stalled at around 3 FPS according to Steam overlay.

It's strange how the system started working after a restart, but then it crashed again. I thought a fresh boot fixed everything, only to have it fail later. What’s going on?

Avoid using Win10 as the issue. Turn off sound hardware acceleration after reinstalling drivers if the problem persists.
