Game experiences a sudden slowdown after 15 to 30 minutes of use.
Began playing Cyberpunk 2077 roughly two months ago on my workstation laptop. For about a month and a half it ran smoothly. I limited the frame rate to 58fps (display supports 60) with VSync enabled because of some tearing issues. Recently, over the past three weeks, the game has started working perfectly again, but after 15–30 minutes of play it begins to lag severely. Motion turns into a blur and textures become noticeably poor—making it unplayable. I considered switching to another title, so I tried Expedition 33 and the same problem appeared, though the lag comes on quicker. The system performs well for short bursts, then drops to a frustratingly slow state. I’m not familiar with PC gaming or troubleshooting, so I’m seeking advice from others who might understand what’s happening. Note: Windows, other applications, and the laptop itself function normally. Only the games exhibit this performance drop. Specifications: CPU – Intel i7-13850HX, RAM – 32 GB, GPU – NVIDIA RTX 4000, running on an SSD.
