GPU: Asus Tuf gaming 4070ti PSU:Cosair 1000w Window 11 pro 1440hz samsung 34inch ultrawide monitor and a 75hz 1080 24inch monitor UEFI version: Z790 steel legend WIFI 2.07 Full part list https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FB8fTn This incident happened recently (early March) after I assembled the system in mid-January. When switching off games like F1 2022 and FFXIV (both direct x11 titles?) or even pressing alt-tab, the display would freeze completely and the fan would run very loudly but the machine wouldn’t shut down. It just stayed black. I waited a while but it didn’t recover. The only solution was to power off the PC and unplug it for about five minutes before trying to restart. If I did it right away, the system would boot up without error on the motherboard but the screen would remain black. I also tried updating drivers, but that didn’t fix the issue and reverting to older ones still caused the problem. Could anyone have faced this situation? Is it related to a defective GPU? Thanks!

I encountered a similar problem earlier on another device. The solution I devised—switching from "full screen" to "windowed full screen"—might be the same for you.
