Hello, I'm trying to figure out what's going on with my gaming experience. There seems to be a significant lag that makes it nearly impossible to play smoothly. I've attached a video that might clarify the problem. My main concerns are in games like CS2 and Fortnite, where I feel completely unprepared—shot before seeing anything, character placement feels off, and hit detection isn't working. My ping is consistently low (8-20ms), but my internet speed is gigabit and I've switched providers several times. I'm using a wired connection, but the issue persists. It's frustrating because my hardware specs are top-tier: Ryzen 9 5900X, RX 5700X, 16GB RAM, 512GB NVMe SSD.

You seem to be new to the game and the video didn’t clarify much. Are you experiencing unusual lag during online play? If yes, please share more about your network (WiFi vs. wired, router details, other users, etc.). Or does this issue occur with non-online games?

It's not related to lag spikes, I'm experiencing very high FPS and minimal ping. It seems like a minor delay is the issue, but I can't describe it in detail from the video. This isn't about lag spikes or ping spikes at all.

Okay. Hardline or Wifi? How are your peripherals connected? Have you shuffled which USB ports you're using? Does the delay happen in non-online games? Just to confirm, this is a situation where you're moving your mouse and there is a noticable delay between that and the action happening on screen?

It seems the issue might already have been addressed in earlier discussions. I'm currently connected via a wired link and haven't adjusted the USB ports. The delay appears to be related to character positioning, as my screen location differs from an opponent's view.

It seems like a delay issue might be occurring. If the problem spans across various games, it’s likely on your device. Keep in mind, a lag spike usually isn’t visible in ping tests because the test frequency is low.

I believed the lag was linked to ping or FPS, both solid points. I've checked various devices on my network and everything works fine. The problem seems to be with my PC, not others. I've tried multiple PCs, different Ethernet cables, and even swapped out a Wi-Fi card and a network card, yet the issue persists.

Are several computers connected to the same network? You're playing in many different games? Just a quick note—Roblox is one possibility, but there are plenty of other options. A sudden lag spike usually only matters if you're doing something that needs instant response, like gaming. Streaming video works in small chunks, but it can get really fast and then slow down again. This behavior is unusual, isn't it?

Several computers connected to three different networks. It's actually Roblox, which is the simplest platform to demonstrate this problem. I'm unfamiliar with a transient lag spike before.

That sounds like a server issue then. Kinda out of your control. We've been complaining about this for 20 years in a thousand games and there is just no best solution, only tradeoffs.
