A few days back Battlefield 4 began freezing and crashing. This hasn’t happened to me in about a year since owning the game. When it crashes, I only see the Battlelog message stating: Game disconnected: Client closed down connection. Please check your network connection and ensure port 3659 (UDP) is open. It was unusual because I wasn’t asked to open that port before and the game still ran perfectly. After trying it, the issue persisted and it’s really annoying. Here are my PC details: AMD FX-6300 (not overclocked), Sapphire R9 270x with 4GB VRAM, 8GB RAM, Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. I also don’t believe the CPU is throttling since I have an aftermarket cooler and temperatures are normal. Thanks in advance for any help.

No, I haven't tried repairing the game yet.

It seems to stem from a backend problem. The experience varies based on your location and the hosting provider.

I reside in Europe, mainly in Croatia. The same problem appears on other servers, and from the error screen in BattleLog, it seems the issue lies with the client side.

I didn't perform any overclocking; everything is stock. I'll test Firefox this morning and share the outcomes. Thanks!

Have you attempted resetting your modem or router? Did you consider pausing your firewall for a short period?

I attempted using Firefox, but it didn’t resolve the issue. I also tried reinstalling Punkbuster as some users recommended, but that didn’t work either. It seems I might need to reinstall the entire game. Alternatively, I could reach out to EA for assistance. Thanks though.

I also attempted a reboot of my router and restored it to its original settings. Changing the firewall settings didn’t resolve the issue.
