The PS4 controller has blue light and appears functional on the device manager, yet it fails to detect in games. Someone, could you assist me with this issue?
Which title? Any game? Sony is known for taking unique approaches. They might have an issue with NIH standards and could be limited to games from their own catalog. It’s likely there’s a particular configuration or extra software required to make it function smoothly and appear like any standard game on the controller. Expecting some level of manipulation from Sony is probably part of the situation. Edited March 22, 2023 by Bombastinator
It doesn't function that way. Connect it to a USB port and it shows up as a standard game controller. The buttons and controls look like Xbox ones, though the mapping might be incorrect if the game doesn't understand the format. If the game can tell the difference between PS and XB controllers, it will adjust the mapping automatically. The only peculiar thing I've noticed is that games using Steam's interface require you to set them up in Steam before using Windows.
Many games struggle with recognition issues. I usually turn off Steam controller detection and proceed with DS4Windows instead. With wireless connections, it remains uncertain.
