Game console shuts down during playtime.
Hello, I've recently replaced my graphics card and encountered a similar problem with it. My computer shuts down while playing games, and the screen displays a no-signal warning before turning completely off. After a short pause, the game audio remains for a while before fading into static. It only restarts when I power it off and turn it back on.
I've noticed that newer titles like Watch Dogs 3 cause this within 10-20 minutes of starting, whereas older games such as CSGO take around 40-50 minutes to trigger the issue. I've checked both CPU and GPU temperatures—GPU temps hover between 85-86°C just before the crash, while CPU stays within normal ranges.
I've ruled out the card since it happened with the previous one too. My current setup includes an Intel Core i5-10400 board, ASRock Z490 Phantom Gaming GPU, Asus TUF Gaming RTX 3070 with 8GB RAM (8x2), Corsair Vengeance 3600MHz, a 4K monitor, and a 1000W PSU from Cooler Master Silent Pro. Previously, I had a GTX 1060 with a 600W power supply from Thermaltake. I performed a GPU stress test, and the display went off in about 20 seconds; when I opened the case again, it worked fine.
I've also tried different cables (D-port and HDMI), reinstalled drivers, and even changed the operating system, but nothing seems to fix the issue. I'm unsure whether the problem lies with the power supply or if overheating is the cause. Have you checked the PSU's output or looked for any error codes?
A basic check would involve switching the GPU fans to full speed and observing the results. Of course, the sound will be loud, but it’s just for testing purposes—not a lasting solution. If you want to manage your GPU fans, tools like MSI Afterburner or ASUS GPU Tweak are available at no cost.
