I was considering boosting my CPU performance, but right now I have an AMD FX-8320E with 8 cores running at 3.20 GHz, 8GB DDR3 RAM, and a Gigabyte GTX 1060 6GB GPU. It seems the frames are getting restricted lately. Even when playing in the lowest resolution, my games are delivering the same maximum FPS as they do at higher settings, and the GPU output stays between 60-70 regardless of graphics options. The question is, would CPU overclocking actually help improve in-game FPS? Please let me know if I'm misunderstanding anything, especially since I'm new to PC building. Your advice would be appreciated!

OC might slightly boost your FPS, but only a small amount. There are many factors to consider about your specific CPU and the trade-offs involved. I recommend reviewing all the information first before attempting an OC: https://www.google.com/search?q=overcloc...0E&ie=&oe=
