Programs frequently save to your SSD instead of HDD because it offers faster performance. Even after removing and reinstalling them, the issue persists.

No, you're not necessarily saving them to a custom "x:" drive. Reinstalling programs typically saves them to the default installation directory, which is usually C:\. If you want to change the location, you'll need to specify the path explicitly during installation.

Have you explored installing from a custom location?

I can attempt that, or perhaps include it in the bios.

Avoid repeatedly clicking "next" during setup. Usually, an installer includes an option to choose where to store the file.

Additionally, certain applications (such as Chrome or Electron-based tools) tend to place their files in the %APPDATA directory without allowing alternative installation locations. This behavior often avoids triggering UAC prompts, as Program Files is a restricted area. They typically require administrative privileges because that folder is protected.

Absolutely, it's a relief that Chrome uses less space compared to the high-resolution assets in games like Fallout 4.

No, your libraries should be on your SSD or NVMe drive, not your traditional HDD.
