GA-78LMT-USB3 fx 9590
GA-78LMT-USB3 fx 9590
so i already possess the board (ga-78lmt rev 6)and i’m getting a steal on the processor (190 which is close to what the 8350 costs at 160)
but i was wondering if it will work i have no plan whatsoever for overclocking and i’m okay with underclocking by .1 or .2 but nothing more i could theoretically get a better board but returning would be a hassle if possible oh and the cooling isn’t an issue as i’m planning to use a LEPA AquaChanger 240 Liquid Cooler
i’ve heard of tdp and don’t know if i can support this one gigabyte says that i can support the 8350
and the 9590 isn’t THAT far off
UPDATE: i’m trying with newegg to return the board but my budget is pretty tight also i hear that it has a 220w tdp but i also hear that that isn’t equal to how much power it will draw so how much power will it draw i understand i’ll have to get a better power supply but besides the board and the 9590 all i have is 3 drives and a firepro v4800 too i know i need water cooling and i’m fine with paying for that but can i use air cooling with underclocked while i wait for shipping maybe a week or 2?
This CPU is only suitable for the chosen 990FX motherboards. For instance:
ASUS Crosshair V Formula-Z, GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD7 and ASRock 990FX Extreme9.
Verify compatibility with your motherboard manufacturers.
Installing this CPU may harm your motherboard. I advise against proceeding.
From Newegg's details about the CPU:
This processor works only with the chosen 990FX motherboards.

Make sure to verify compatibility with your motherboard manufacturers.
Installing this CPU might harm your board; I wouldn't suggest it.
I understand, with that board it can only handle up to six cores because of power constraints and the chipset. The two boards mentioned seem to be the only ones that support the FX 9590, as their power consumption exceeds the 140 watts limit of most other 970/990fx models.
Thanks,
