So after overclocking to 4.1ghz and reaching a max temperature of 88°C during gaming, will the lifespan of your CPU decrease rapidly if you keep this heat level with the stock cooler?

The temperature is only slightly within the processor's range. I recommend a third-party cooling option. Anything better than the standard solution would be ideal.

88c is nearing its limit, so I'm considering an aftermarket cooler. My G3258 was about 85°C at 4.2GHz with the stock cooler.
