you're thinking about buying Windows 8 at the cheapest price, which was G2A. you've bought games there before without problems, so you're on the right track. yes, during the OS setup you'll likely receive a Windows key that needs to be entered. when using a bootable drive, you can use this key to install and activate the version you purchased from G2A. following the instructions in the Linux video should guide you through the process.

I would visit /r/microsoftsoftwareswap. It offers better reliability compared to G2A.

I used a USB or DVD to download and install it on my new PC. After that, I entered the setup when prompted. They sold me Windows 8.1, and it took me about a week to get it running properly. It worked just fine once everything was set up.

I purchased it for immediate use, but had to return my motherboard and CPU after a two-month wait.

Everything is working well. I own two 8.1 keys on separate computers, and both are compatible with Windows 10 updates.
