The developers have no respect for my time. I’d rather invest in that Russian or Polish creator so they can earn a modest income and live better. Most of the games on G2A are just reused keys from other official sellers like GMG. I’ve purchased a few titles when they were discounted on GMG or Humble Bundles, then resold them on G2A for a profit. Have you even checked the prices of something like CS:GO? Historical Low: 2,99€ on Steam on March 14, 2014 (typically around 3.50€ during summer sales). G2A current lowest: 8,45 €
Many users find G2A generally helpful, though no one can confirm it's completely dependable. We're aware it isn't 100% trustworthy. There have been some issues in the past. Avoid investing your money unless you're comfortable with a small chance of loss.
Some claims are misleading. In certain situations, this is now accurate because sellers restrict access by region to avoid issues. Still, most steep discounts come from selling outside the region. There’s never been a Windows 7 or 8 deal that reaches $30, yet they charge that price. You might be letting yourself believe it’s fine due to rare exceptions that are only emerging now because distributors are trying to counter G2A’s methods. Region locking is essentially against consumers and stems from people purchasing from services like G2A.
It refers to a grey market. In my comparisons I never mentioned G2A was the seller of keys. They handle these hidden transactions. Also, the best way to obtain a full Windows key from Microsoft under $100 is by using the dreamspark program (or whatever they now call it) as a student to receive non-transferable licenses just for college students. I understand. That's exactly how I got mine. Legitimately.
Grey market products can be easily distributed internationally because they don't require physical shipping. This makes it simple to move them across borders without transportation expenses. The digital nature of these goods is a key factor. Steam likely implemented region locking soon after G2A and comparable platforms gained traction to protect their market position.
Prior to the January steam region lock, I frequently purchased Russian Steam gifts at significantly lower prices than G2A levels. Rome 2 Total War was around €17.50 during a sale, and I acquired it for just €5.25. Do you think it matters much if UbiShit receives between $20–30 or $60 for the same game? If I hadn’t bought my games at the absolute cheapest, I wouldn’t have the 980Ti now—I’d have something like a R9 270, just like you.
