G2A e-mail (I was hacked)
I updated the password and am checking if I can identify the sender's origin. Remembering that using a Greek reference might help if the hack involved similar tactics. I won't respond to his email but will explore options with the authorities.
The email was sent from an address in a specific IP range. You can identify the sender's IP by checking the email headers using tools like IPLocation.net.
The e-mail was [email protected] Your website says it is California. I'm not too sure if the kid is from there. I wonder if I can see if he connected to any minecraft servers. I can ask the owners maybe. If there is a way to see.
You can request the IP access log from Mojang to identify which IP addresses have logged in. It might also show online activity, such as login attempts and their success status, which you can view in your email account.
It appears the email is from Google. Note the address for reference. Gather IP details from Mojang, then report them to the relevant authorities. They usually act only when there are many complaints or clear evidence, as most cases don’t warrant intervention due to lack of substantial proof.
I opened a support ticket and included a picture along with the email containing offensive words, the updated email address, new password, and changed username. I asked for IP details and any information they could provide so I could report the incident to the right authorities. Thank you very much. If you need further assistance in identifying this person, I would appreciate it. I wasn’t able to locate a way to reach Google using the email sent to trace the origin of that password email.
I reached out to homeland security via US-CERT.GOV to document the event.
