It's common to adjust G-Sync settings through different ports—HDMI and DisplayPort work well. Your setup with an Infinity GPU and Acer Nitro monitor should support this functionality.

G-sync support is mainly available through DisplayPort, not via older hardware modules.

Plug your monitor directly via HDMI, avoiding any DP cable. Open the monitor's settings and enable G-Sync. If it isn't listed there, G-Sync isn't supported. The DP connection is just a trick.

The discrepancy likely comes from different sources reporting the same thing. Your monitor and the NVIDIA control panel both indicate g sync, but the DP might be adjusting it based on other factors. It’s possible the DP is compensating for timing issues or environmental conditions, so don’t assume one is always wrong.

The G-Sync adjustment in the display activates upon connecting it via HDMI.

Are you interpreting it from a driver's perspective?

the monitor displays adaptive sync, i enable it using dp(this works if this setting is active on the monitor configuration, since turning off adaptive sync in the monitor still shows the gsync choice in the nvidia control panel), however in the nvidia control panel the g sync option isn’t visible when hdmi is selected.

No specific constraints mentioned, just a general inquiry about using DP.

No, but I had a bigger resolution in HDMI. With the DPI I can only get 1080p max, and then it was just because I was curious and I definitely don’t want to pay for something that turns out to be a lie.
