Playing around with overclocking my FX-8320. I'm running an Evo 212 at 1800 rpms with a voltage of 1.45625. The Mobo is a Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3. During stress tests with Prime95, the temperature stays between 56 and 58 degrees. According to what I've learned, keeping it under 56 should help prolong its life, though in reality, the processor might not handle such heavy loads. So, my concern is whether this level of heat is still excessive.
Looks good because it's a Prime95 test. You wouldn't usually experience such high temperatures in everyday activities.
During stress tests for FX processors in the mid-60s, it's usually safe to stop adjusting the adding voltage part of the overclock. And as mentioned, you probably won't encounter such intense stress on your CPU, so that's definitely acceptable.
