Hey everyone. I'm seeing a reading of 45°C in the BIOS during idle, but the temperatures shown in these two programs at the same time are lower. Which one is actually the right temp? I think the BIOS should be the most accurate, but the 45°C in idle seems too high. I changed the thermal paste last night.
During idle, the system allocates one core, causing the reported temperature to rise. When windows enter idle mode, cores are parked, resulting in lower temperatures across all cores, especially those near idle and gated areas. Aim to activate a single core (such as PiMod 32m or Cinebench R15 single-core) and align the BIOS readings accordingly. That’s the goal.
The Coretemp readings appear incorrect since a CPU temperature of just 21°C is unrealistic. Which software provides the most reliable CPU temperature data? Under what section can you view this information? I’ve had AMD overdrive installed and it shows around 49°C across all cores, which seems reasonable.
