Furmark causes minimal frame rates on my GPU 3070 laptop.
At a frame rate of 7 FPS, I attempted to uninstall and reinstall the drivers using DDU, which worked for a day before dropping back below 10 fps. I experienced issues when downloading kcd 1. The graphics card would attempt ultra high settings even at 7 fps, reaching up to 60 fps temporarily after driver reinstallation, but then fell back under 10 fps the following day. Any suggestions?
Welcome to the forums, newcomer! We require a bit more information. Please share the make, model, and SKU with your laptop. I attempted to uninstall and reinstall the drivers using DDU, but it worked for a day before dropping to under 10 fps. If you're using DDU, are you removing all GPU drivers (Intel, AMD, Nvidia) in Safe Mode? After that, do you manually install the latest GPU driver in an elevated command? I also noticed the issue when downloading kcd 1. Where did you obtain the installer for the game?
Hello,
I obtained the game from Steam without any problems. I cleared all drives via DDU and reinstalled the drivers through Nvidia GeForce Experience. This matches what you referred to by "elevated command."

Furmark is a very demanding GPU stress test, and laptops often struggle due to their cooling limits.
This pairing isn't ideal.
It's not advisable to keep Furmark running for extended periods, particularly on a laptop.
In fact, Furmark can lead to overheating issues, potentially damaging components.
Leaving it on continuously may cause the thermal paste to degrade, resulting in more frequent thermal throttling.
Could it be that the Intel iGPU is being utilized instead of the Nvidia card, and are you connected to power?
The Nvidia GPU is being utilized. The settings were adjusted in the NVDIA control panel. It is connected to power. Task manager screenshot captured.
But opt for a benchmark suite or a game rather than a stress test such as Furmark.
