Hi, I recently purchased a gigabit Ethernet adapter, which was a significant improvement over my previous 250mps model. I was eager to test its performance while downloading Tomb Raider on Steam. Initially, the download speed matched my expectations at around 1.5mps. After researching online, I discovered that enabling speed duplex usually boosts speeds. However, whenever I tried to activate it, the network settings would revert to automatic mode. Could you offer any advice or alternative solutions?
Unless you invest in a gigabit connection, you won't experience quicker data rates. Gigabit operates exclusively in full duplex mode, not half duplex. Edit: In theory, you could use half duplex gigabit, but very little network infrastructure actually does so.
Sure, I can help with that. Let me connect the adapter for you.
Powerline performance depends on many factors such as wiring age and condition, plus external interference. Speeds may be limited even if you begin with a simple setup. First, check the fundamentals—ensure the adapters are connected to the same circuit and verify the wiring is in good shape.
I already have everything set up on Windows, but I couldn't get speed duplex activated. Any alternative method could help?
