Function not responding once XMP is activated
Have you checked for a BIOS update? Newer BIOS releases often offer improved RAM performance and better compatibility. DDR5 supports quad-channel operation using two sticks, which operates on two channels each. This detail doesn’t change much in practice.
Hello, thank you for the update. I previously refreshed my profile with the newest settings via Asus EZ Update. I'm currently using version 1202, which matches the latest release on the Asus website. Also verified the MoBo version on both Windows and BIOS.
After enabling XMP, the system typically initiates a boot process and may show visual indicators such as LED flashes or on-screen messages. You might hear distinct beeps or tones during the POST (Power-On Self Test) phase. Specific POST codes could appear if the hardware recognizes the configuration, helping identify any issues.
The unusual behavior varies from case to case. Occasionally I see a yellow light on the DRAM, other times a yellow plus green flash during booting, which adds to the confusion. Searching online for my RAM reveals many similar reports (though none solved my problem). I've frequently cleared my CMOS because I get stuck on the Asus screen (pressing DEL or F2 to enter BIOS), but it doesn't keep me in Windows or send me back to BIOS when I press delete. It happens only during those moments when I remove the CMOS. Recently, after opening ASUS AI Suite 3 and exploring without making changes, my PC restarted and I had to clear the CMOS again because I was stuck again (clearing it didn't help). As long as I avoid touching anything in the BIOS except that one AI Suite 3 issue, everything seems fine. I can even disable multi-core enhancement and it's stable so far. But enabling XMP—even without turning on multicore—causes problems. Hope this gives a bit more clarity.
I reviewed the Asus website and confirmed the information: your RAM should work at full speed. The product details indicate compatibility.
