Fun fact... setting up an account in CSGO wasn't what I anticipated for my first match rank.
Fun fact... setting up an account in CSGO wasn't what I anticipated for my first match rank.
New account CSGO. My first match against Gold 1/2 35 bomb ended in a clear loss—5 deaths and 8 MVP’s. It was obvious, but I kept checking the team chat for their ranks and nobody responded. I mostly defended myself, taking down most of the enemy, while they seemed clueless about aiming or strategy. I made it clear I’m not cheating, since they all wanted me out. They were clearly trying to eliminate me.
Next match is against MG1/2 with GN4 on my team. The start was chaotic; that player had perfect awareness and game sense, far beyond their rank. They quit mid-game and received a 2-hour ban—probably for the same reason I got banned. I know some of you think it’s unfair, but this isn’t a smurf; I had to play my first two matches myself. I won the second with 7 MVP’s thanks to that recent rank change.
In my Gold 1/2 game, I had a solid teammate who was polite and good at calling outs. He’ll climb quickly and will definitely improve his rank.
Now here’s the twist—my other account was playing five months ago against GN4’s. We had a strong lineup, but my team struggled. My first placement match felt so unfair, it was tough to grasp how easy it was for them.
Read again, i am not mocking anyone at any rank, as i started as Silver 3, and i have battled solo Q by myself vs smurfs etc. My other alt started first match at Gold 4, this time vs Gold 1/2, heck there was a Silver Elite on my team... there is quite a skill gap between G1/2 and 4. Just odd it did not start at Gold 4.
I didn’t mean to imply you were making fun; I just wanted to suggest beginning at a lower level. My first contest this summer was against GN1/2. Maybe they adjusted the ranking because you competed unranked recently.
The reason I began this journey is... Valve has changed the ranking system, even for players with true skill, I dropped to MGE after a six-game win streak and one loss, suffered a poor performance, and ended up getting a cooldown because I quit. The mixed skill level of a DMG was made very clear through a video I made showing my ups and downs.
