Frequent PC failures and restarts immediately after logging into Windows.
I haven't assembled a PC in roughly five years, so this latest build might have some quirks and I'm concerned I may have made a mistake. I'm noticing odd behavior during startup: after launching Windows, it takes longer to reach the login screen, typing my password causes the mouse to slow down and freeze briefly, then the screen returns and the system restarts. After rebooting, a blank space appears in the top-left corner for several seconds before I'm prompted again. Once I power off and restart into Linux, the mouse and keyboard didn't respond until I changed their USB connections on the motherboard. Here are my details for reference: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/9TKQQ6 This setup is dual-booted with both Windows and Arch Linux via systemd-boot. Typically, booting involves three display flashes before reaching the bootloader—whether it's an underscore, a blank screen, or the motherboard logo, this varies each time and worries me. When I logged into Linux after rebooting, I saw this message in my logs: mce: [Hardware Error]: PROCESSOR 2:a20f12 TIME 1673493020 SOCKET 0 APIC 3 microcode a20120a (I was really shocked by this and re-seated my RAM, which I haven't seen since). Most of the time, every startup triggers this warning in my logs, which seems harmless: blacklist: Problem blacklisting hash (-13) blacklist: Problem blacklisting hash (-13) blacklist: Problem blacklisting hash (-13) blacklist: Problem blacklisting hash (-13) blacklist: Problem blacklisting hash (-13). I'm trying to figure out what's going wrong—did I connect anything incorrectly, is the RAM not properly seated, or is the CPU overheating? Edit: This issue appears consistently on every boot now, with the underscore lingering for about ten seconds each time.
