Gaming on my PC triggers an unexpected store exception BSOD. Besides a few other alerts, these appear only occasionally compared to the many exceptions I’ve seen. I haven’t noticed it for months after taking a break from demanding games. It seems to happen when I quickly pan the camera or perform sudden actions that stress the system, though it can occur without any apparent cause. I don’t have a consistent way to trigger the BSOD; it usually happens within minutes to hours. My tests used Metro Exodus Enhanced Edition, Genshin Impact, and a legally emulated version of Tears of the Kingdom. TotK crashes more often than the others, possibly due to higher RAM usage. In the event viewer, I see a "dump file creation failed" error every time it occurs, which is really annoying. I’ve tried forcing the BSOD with a Windows tool and successfully generated dumps afterward. My hardware includes a recent Windows 11 PC (3-4 years old), Ryzen 3600, RTX 3080, Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro Wi-Fi, two 8GB RAM modules, and a SeaSonic FOCUS Gold 750W power supply. I use two M.2 drives for storage, with a 256GB Sabrent Rocket OS and games stored on a 2TB Crucial P2. I’ve done things like a clean Windows install, updated BIOS/GPU/OS, run memory tests overnight, checked RAM in various slots, disabled XMP settings, adjusted fan speeds, reseated components, used chkdsc and sfc, ran SeaTools, reinstalled GPU drivers with DDU, disabled fast boot, ensured dump settings were correct, and even ran a basic antivirus. So far, nothing worked. Do you know anyone with similar issues? Any suggestions on possible fixes or likely hardware faults?
Check bluescreenview for any logs, it works well (just needs a BSOD to capture data). https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html
It indicates no logs are present. It seems to check for minidump files, but without any, it won’t locate anything.
