freezing in minecraft
I'm experiencing frequent freezes lasting 2-5 seconds while playing FTB beyond, especially during long sessions. I suspect the issue might be related to garbage collection in Java. My system has 4GB of RAM allocated for mining, whereas it was previously 3GB. Even though Forge didn't have enough memory to load, it worked fine at 3GB. However, performance drops significantly when running near my generator or similar loads. When I explore or mine elsewhere, the game runs smoothly without freezing. I can maintain high FPS for AAA games on high settings. My rig seems unaffected.
check if minecraft is utilizing every available memory and losing everything once the limit is reached. In FTB I set 4GB (settings show 8 but java doesn't want to fully reserve it), usage stays around 2.7–3.2GB while playing, increasing gradually to 3.7GB then dropping sharply, causing a brief lag before returning to 2GB and quickly jumping back up to 2.7–3.2GB.
Absolutely, you'll want extra memory for Minecraft if your system is running low. Look for ways to remove unused mods—some take up a lot of RAM, like 200MB. Just be careful with single-player; deleting mods might cause you to leave the server since others have different files.
Determine the appropriate RAM based on your system requirements and the specific model of your device.
4GB now works smoothly without lag, unlike the previous 4GB which caused issues. When I used 4G last time, it didn’t save properly.
