Hello everyone, here’s a summary of my recent experience. I was trying to set up Windows 11 on my new PC using a USB drive, but kept seeing the error message “Windows 11 installation failed.” I switched to Windows 10 and used their installer to try moving over. At first it worked fine, everything seemed normal. Then I powered off and back on, but the system froze during the splash screen and won’t even enter BIOS anymore. My postcode is 08, which doesn’t seem to indicate a problem. If anyone has suggestions or insights, I’d really appreciate it!

Details:
- Motherboard: Gigabyte X870E Aorus Pro
- CPU: Ryzen 9800X3D
- CPU cooler: Corsair Nautilus 360 RS
- GPU: Gigabyte 3080TI Eagle OC
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2X16GB DDR5 6000 C30
- Storage: Corsair MP700 Pro 1TB
- Power supply: Corsair HXi 1200W

I say that because it helps clarify the point. If you need more details, just let me know.

You set up Windows 11, but your computer stopped working properly.

Sure, you could try restoring Windows 10 from a backup if necessary.

Have you attempted to reset the BIOS? Disconnect the PC from the power source, turn off the device by pressing the power button, and remove the coin cell battery from the motherboard for roughly 30 seconds.

I've already attempted to reset the CMOS, but it didn't resolve the problem. If updating the BIOS isn't an option, I'll revert it back. I've assembled a few machines before and haven't faced this issue previously. I considered it might be an SSD fault, so I replaced it with one running Windows 11, which functions correctly and still shows the same error.

It depends on the device; some models require storage for updates, while others function without it.

I might attempt that. Does it install directly into the BIOS without needing a drive, I assume? If so, it could point to the SSD being the issue, though it’s odd since it doesn’t function with an SSD that worked in my previous setup.

It's possible the connection or port isn't working properly, which can occur occasionally.
