Hi, I’m experiencing sudden frame drops in almost any game I play, and I’m not sure what’s causing it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated—I’ll do my best to help based on what I know. Thanks for your patience!

P.S. I wasn’t sure where to share this, so I posted it in general. Hope that works!

Your setup details:
- GPU: GTX 1050

- Motherboard: M.2 slot, LX3 chipset
- CPU: FX 6300 (6 cores)
- Power supply: 500W, 1TB HDD, 2x SSDs

I need clear details about your specifications. When did the frame drop begin? Please describe the drops in detail. Are your components current? Have you tracked usage and temperature data?

Before making changes, check for updates to your motherboard drivers. Then verify your GPU drivers are current and ensure your power supply can support all components.

Regarding the motherboard BIOS version, I’m uncertain if you can obtain a tool to retrieve that data within Windows. I’ve faced problems with my GPU or even a new one where a BIOS update resolved the issue. It might be worth trying if you’re prepared and do your research—it’s quite straightforward.

This setup hasn't arisen before. Have you encountered similar issues with older versions of this system?

I'll verify the BIOS version and check for updates. The motherboard is quite outdated, with the last update listed as 2017 on Asus' website. I've experienced this issue for some time, and it hasn't been present during the initial setup. The problem only appeared after a couple of years, unlike when the system was brand new.

Was es früher passiert? Hatte es in den letzten 2 bis 3 Jahren gut funktioniert? Und betrifft es Spiele, die du schon kennst, oder nur neue?

I don't recall it ever being this bad, and it affects all games.
