AC unity works fine with the GPU I bought, but the performance is poor. At ultra settings, I only manage around 52 FPS. To improve it, I’m reducing MSAA to double and lowering anti-aliasing. Does this mean the game is heavily optimized?

Unisoft created it, that's all. They really pulled off this without royalty issues—definitely a remarkable feat.

Ubisoft produced a poorly optimized game, at least you're not experiencing it at 24 frames per second like the console players do.

The issues with Ubisoft titles extend beyond just frame rate; they involve inconsistent rendering that causes microstutter. While 52fps often feels fluid in many games, Ubisoft releases such as Unity, Watchdogs, and FC4 frequently display small frames that delay rendering, leading to a choppy experience even when the overall performance is decent. The Crew stands out as a rare exception. I’m not certain if recent patches or driver updates have addressed this, and I haven’t tested it in a few months.

AC: Unity is incredibly inefficient, isn't it? People often talk about the gameplay in positive ways, but I've heard far more criticism than praise. Usually, most Assassin's Creed titles have mediocre adaptations, and Unity pushed things even further down.

The optimization is awesome... Just awesome... One guy with i3 3210, HD7770 1gb vram, 8gb ddr3 is getting 25fps on medium at 720p. And I am enjoying a slideshow (5-10fps) with my i3 2120 (even swapped to a i5-3450), 8gb DDr3, GTX 750 1gb (Which is surely better than HD7770) at 640x400  . Trust me... It is awesome to play at 5fps... I now know the feeling you get BEFORE KILLING YOURSELF!!!!!!

Check if your PC meets the requirements for running Assassin's Creed Unity. If it doesn't have a NAS workstation with two Titan Z, skip the process.

It's a bit disappointing, but I really like the AC series. Unity sounds appealing, though I'm holding back because of its performance issues and lots of bugs.

The game is running fine, though it’s clear you purchased one that didn’t meet the basic criteria. Performance might differ, so even a comparison between 7770 and 750 won’t be identical for everyone.
